Design New Media Overview This important one semester class specifically and thoroughly addresses how students organize and present themselves in our digital world. It covers basic, yet often overlooked information, including digital citizenship, file extensions, digital media storage and organization - and then we beam in on visual literacy. Using words as image, how color affects and influences, basic design principles, and why all of that matters is explored and discussed. State of the art design tools (iMac computers, web tools and apps and Adobe Creative Suite are used to create a variety of works. The format of this class is considered a blended learning environment. Blended learning is a setting where teachers and students use a variety of methods to study their subject. One method of study in this class is through Google Classroom. These on-line components are designed to augment regular class instruction (called a learning platforms). While online learning platforms may vary in the way they look, feel and the student interface, the goal is always the same - to supplement, enhance and support student learning! |
