| I'd like to tell you about one facet of the great work that's being done by an amazing educator here at Millis High School: In 2004 my friend and colleague, Danielle Mannion organized a special day for high school video production students - The Lights, Camera, Action Television and Film Conference. Twelve years later Danielle's conference is still "bringing together students that study television/film production." The mission is to provide an "opportunity to share ideas, view each other's work and discuss current media trends with industry professionals" The New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (and others) sponsor the day so that the conference is free for all. Talk about giving students a way to connect with their talents, passions and aspirations??! Everyone comes away from this day with new networks, skills, and ideas - it is truly energizing for all! I hope these pictures convey a small fraction of the excitement of the day! Click on the thumbnails for the captions! |
